About Us
Firescope is owned and operated by John Meredith and was established in 2003 after 22 years service in the ACT Fire Brigade. During this time John served 7 years Road Rescue, 10 years front line Fire Fighting and 5 years Public Education.
Upon retiring from the Fire Service, John continued his passion for Public Fire Education with the launch of Firescope. Relocating to the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, John has further established his client base across the Eastern Seaboard of Australia, and continues to deliver high quality Fire Safety and Evacuation Training with a diverse range of clientele including retail outlets, industry, schools, health services and small businesses.
Our Policy
We are committed to providing business and industry with efficient, cost effective fire safety training, which will protect lives and property. We provide training for both small and large organisations, adapting our courses to suit your requirements.
Our Trainers
Our trainers are fully qualified with over 25 years experience in the fire fighting industry including front line fire fighting and public education. All trainers have a minimum of Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, as well as a current First Aid Certificate and FSA qualifications.

Our Courses & Services
1. First Response Fire Training & Extinguisher Training
First Response Fire Training will increase your understanding of fire hazards, and examine ways to reduce the risk of a fire in your workplace or home. It will give you and your staff the skills to act quickly and calmly in the event of an emergency.
Time: 1.5 hours
Book the Course2. Fire Extinguisher Training
Fire Extinguisher training covers the technical, practical and safe usage of all types of portable Fire Extinguishers that are commonly used today. Hands on exercise using portable fire fighting equipment and fire blankets.
Time: 1 hour
Book the Course3. Fire Warden Training
Instruction to Fire Wardens on the procedures to follow in an emergency situation, including use of communications systems pertaining to your workplace.
1 hour full course or 1/2 hour refresher course
Book the Course4. Evacuation Exercises
Practical Training for all personnel. Involves briefing, evacuation exercise and debrief session to conclude.
